Maryland Art Place

Pro Bono Site for a Vital Nonprofit

Maryland Art Place

TBG (The Berndt Group), typically takes on three pro bono projects per year for socially-motivated or arts-focused nonprofit organizations.  The company feels it is important to support the local nonprofit and small business communities in Baltimore as much as we can.

TBG designed and built a pro bono site for Maryland Art Place (MAP), a contemporary art center and gallery in downtown Baltimore.  The new site sought to establish Maryland Art Place as a vibrant member of a national network of art centers and museums, but also to firmly establish MAP in the Baltimore community as an arts destination and resource.

This sleekly designed site highlighted current exhibitions and highly organized content provided information on exhibition details and image galleries, press releases, programs and events, ways to get involved, and resources for artists.  We built the site to flexibly allow for frequent updates to exhibitions and opportunities for artists since the content was ever-changing. High impact imagery from exhibitions used throughout the site created an immersive experience. The clean design and easy navigation of the new site projected a more modern, sophisticated, and accessible brand for the organization.

TBG won a number of awards for this site, including a Davey Award, ADDY and an International Summit Creative Award.
