TBG & The BMA
When The Baltimore Museum of Art (BMA) launched a major initiative to offer free admission to its permanent collection, as part of this initiative, the Museum approached TBG (The Berndt Group) for a user-friendly website that featured design worthy of its sophisticated and art-appreciating visitors. We delivered a site that conveys the unique experience of visiting the BMA for its master works of art, gourmet dining, classical architecture, and lively programs.
The site features strong design, multimedia and an easy-to-navigate Information Architecture. The homepage multimedia offers immersion into the BMA environment, while the navigation clearly presents a hierarchy of attention, segmenting information based on audiences and their needs. Color sections and callouts of related links throughout the site are added cues to help users quickly and easily locate the information they need through visual cues and calls to action.
TBG also designed related eNews and ePostcard templates to compliment the new site design and facilitate the BMA's first foray into online marketing. We also enabled the BMA to distribute its Web workflow among multiple employees and facilitate faster and more accurate content updates.
TBG won a number of awards for this site, including a Horizon Award, WebAward, ADDY and Davey Award.
