TBG Wins WebAwards

Association of Zoos and Aquariums and Maryland State Education Association Web Sites Take Home Honors for Outstanding Achievement in Web Development

October 6, 2010, Baltimore, MD

TBG (The Berndt Group), a Baltimore, Maryland-based full service interactive agency, has received WebAward honors for work on the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and Maryland State Education Association (MSEA) websites.

The Association of Zoos and Aquariums and Maryland State Education Association (MSEA) websites took home Standards of Excellence honors for Outstanding Achievement in Web Development.

Now in its 14th year, the WebAwards provides a benchmark by which all website development can be judged. There are 96 industry categories and each site goes head-to-head with other sites in their categories.

TBG designed and developed a "best-of-breed" website for the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), a nonprofit organization dedicated to the advancement of accredited zoos and aquariums in the areas of animal care, wildlife conservation, education and science. AZA is America's leading accrediting organization for zoos and aquariums and accredits only those institutions that have achieved rigorous standards for animal care, education, wildlife conservation and science. The Ektron CMS platform was used to develop the website, along with in-house custom development to provide additional personalization.

TBG also worked with the Maryland State Education Association (MSEA) on a website redesign and CMS implementation project. MSEA's mission is to provide Maryland's educators and public schools with the tools and support they need to help every student succeed, whether it's through lobbying in Annapolis for school funding and better pensions, bargaining decent salaries and working conditions at the local negotiating table, providing legal aid and expert assistance whenever needed, or ensuring access to meaningful professional development and training. Like the AZA site, the Ektron CMS platform was used to develop the website, along with in-house custom development

"We are excited that the Web Marketing Association recognized our work on these two sites. We enjoyed working on these sites, and it's always nice for our project teams and clients to receive recognition and validation for their hard work," commented John Berndt, President and CEO.

TBG has previously won WebAawards for work on websites for the National Aquarium in Baltimore, Johns Hopkins Children's Center, The University of Maryland School of Law, Maryland Art Place, Baltimore Museum of Art, Maryland SPCA, and Maryland Science Center.
