TBG Wins W³ Awards for Work on American Visionary Art Museum, Chemical Heritage Foundation and American Association of Zoos and Aquariums Web Sites
American Visionary Art Museum, Chemical Heritage Foundation and American Association of Zoos and Aquariums Web Sites Take Home Honors
TBG (The Berndt Group), a Baltimore, Maryland-based full service interactive agency, has received W³ Award honors for work on the American Visionary Art Museum (AVAM), Chemical Heritage Foundation (CHF) and the American Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) websites.
The American Visionary Art Museum took home a gold in the category of "Best Art Websites." The Chemical Heritage Foundation and the American Association of Zoos and Aquariums websites earned silver recognition.
TBG designed and developed a new website for the American Visionary Art Museum (AVAM) that sought to establish AVAM as a premiere museum of visionary art, with a focus on high end, interactive, cutting edge graphic design. We did the work pro bono. TBG typically takes on two pro bono projects per year for socially-motivated or arts-focused nonprofit organizations. The company feels it is important to support the local nonprofit and small business communities in Baltimore as much as we can.
TBG also worked with the Chemical Heritage Foundation (CHF) on a website redesign and CMS implementation project. The new site is implemented in the CrownPeak Content Management System (CMS). CHF fosters an understanding of chemistry's impact on society. An independent, nonprofit organization, CHF maintains major collections of instruments, fine art, photographs, papers, and books. The Foundation hosts conferences and lectures, supports research, offers fellowships, and produces educational materials. CHF's museum and public programs explore subjects ranging from alchemy to nanotechnology.
Like its work with the Chemical Heritage Foundation, TBG worked with the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) to create a new website that involved implementation of the Ektron content management system. AZA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the advancement of accredited zoos and aquariums in the areas of animal care, wildlife conservation, education and science. AZA is America's leading accrediting organization for zoos and aquariums and accredits only those institutions that have achieved rigorous standards for animal care, education, wildlife conservation and science.
"The AVAM, CHF and AZA sites are banner projects for TBG and we are pleased the W³ Awards recognized that they are best-of-breed websites," commented John Berndt, President and CEO.
TBG has previously won a W³ Award for work on the National Aquarium in Baltimore's Trip Planner.
About the W³ Awards
The W³ Awards honors creative excellence on the Web, and recognizes the creative and marketing professionals behind award winning sites, videos and marketing programs. Simply put, the W³ is the first major Web competition to be accessible to the biggest agencies, the smallest firms, and everyone in between. Small firms are as likely to win as Fortune 500 companies and international agencies.
The W³ is sanctioned and judged by the International Academy of the Visual Arts, an invitation-only body consisting of top-tier professionals from a "Who's Who" of acclaimed media, interactive, advertising, and marketing firms. IAVA members include executives from organizations such as Conde Nast, Coach, Disney, The Ellen Degeneres Show, Estee Lauder, Fry Hammond Barr, HBO, Monster.com, MTV, Polo Ralph Lauren, Sotheby's Institute of Art, Victoria's Secret, Wired, Yahoo! and many others.
