&description=Fun, Multimedia Presentation of Conservation Messages
The Berndt Group designed and developed this interactive, educational multimedia CD-ROM for the National Aquarium in Baltimore (NAIB) under an aggressive one-month timeline. The CD-ROM was geared toward a sixth grade reading level and distributed to classes throughout Maryland.
Done entirely in Flash, the CD-ROM featured an original artwork package design, original sound design, animation, and embedded movie clips. Noteworthy features that enhanced the CD's creative design and interactivity included an animated seahorse that guided users through the main sections of the CD as well as introduced conservation tips, and a quiz about the Chesapeake Bay.
The Berndt Group won an international Horizon Interactive Design Award and was named a 'Finalist' in the New York Festivals Interactive Showcase for this project.
We have worked on a number of other projects for the Aquarium, including designing Aqua Mail, the Aquarium's email newsletter, kiosk sequences and Web components for the Dolphin Play Show and Shark Quest exhibit, and an interactive CD-ROM about the Chesapeake Bay. We also designed microsites for the Australia and Frogs exhibits and a Flash-based Trip Planner application.
