&description=Award-Winning Marketing for The State of Maryland

The Berndt Group developed a banner ad campaign for the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development (DBED) to promote technology in Maryland. The ad campaign sought to encourage business owners and decision makers to bring their businesses to Maryland. The ads highlighted Maryland's strong points, such as geography, funding, and range of high tech industries (i.e. Biotechnology).

The Berndt Group developed the campaign concept and creative, as well as mechanisms for click-through tracking and reporting. The end result was six high-impact flash ads, ranging in size from 160 x 600 to 468 x 60 to 336 x 850. The ads were unique in that the final frame of the flash allowed users to self-select their industry of interest, rather than the entire ad being a click-through to one option. Clicking on an industry took the user to a landing page with detailed information, and an email form.

The ads ran on major web sites including the Wall Street Journal, CNN, Forbes, Fortune, New York Times, Business 2, and the AOL Network.

The Berndt Group won two awards for this online ad campaign: 'Best Diversified Business Online ad' from the Web Marketing Association's Internet Advertising Competition (IAC) Awards and a Horizon Interactive Award.
