Berndt Group Announces American Society for Reproductive Medicine Web Site Honored by 2011 Web Health Awards

May 19, 2011

BALTIMORE, MD—The Berndt Group (TBG), www.berndtgroup.net, a Baltimore, Maryland-based full service interactive agency, announced that its work on the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) web site was honored by the 2011 Web Health Awards[sm].

The 2011 Web Health Awards were announced May 18, 2009 on Twitter.  There were 542 entries judged this year and the ASRM site took home three awards!

  • ReproductiveFacts.org received the Silver Award in the Web site Category under Association/Professional Society;
  • ASRM.org received the Bronze Award in the Web site Category under Association/Professional Society;
  • The ASRM News and Research RSS Feed received the Bronze Award in the RSS Feed Category under Association/Professional Society.

Now in its 13th year, the goal of the Web Health Awards[sm] is to recognize high-quality electronic health information. The awards program is organized by the Health Information Resource Center[sm] (HIRC), a national clearinghouse for professionals who work in consumer health fields. The Web Health Awards is an extension of the HIRC’s 18-year old National Health Information Awards[sm], the largest program of its kind in the United States.

Entries in the Winter/Spring 2011 Web Health Awards Program were evaluated by a distinguished panel of judges. Using a rating scale of 1 to 100, each judge evaluated entries for content and design/creativity/user experience. The scores were then totaled and averaged.

Based on the number of entries per category, the Web Health Awards determined an award curve for each individual category. Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Merit awards went to the highest scoring entries in each category, based on the category's award curve.

Berndt Group President and CEO John Berndt commented, "We are pleased that ASRM and its web site were honored by the Web Health Awards. ASRM is a great organization and we enjoyed working with them on this project."

About The ASRM / Berndt GROUP PROJECT

The Berndt Group partnered with the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) to develop a new web site for the organization, implemented in the Ektron CMS 400 Content Management System (CMS). The new site went live in March 2010.

The ASRM is a nonprofit organization whose members must demonstrate the high ethical principles of the medical profession, evince an interest in infertility, reproductive medicine and biology, and adhere to the objectives of the Society.

With regards to working with The Berndt Group on the project, Dr. Robert Rebar, ASRM Executive Director, commented, "It was a challenge to create a more interactive web site for our members, as well as organize the vast amount of patient-focused information on our site. The Berndt Group worked with us to redesign our existing site and create a complementary site focused on the reproductive health needs of patients and the public. Both sites are customer-service oriented, appealing and easy to navigate."
